YOUTH IN ACTION - Action 4.5. Projects supporting information activities for young people and youth workers
next deadline: 2013-06-27

This sub-action supports projects which promote information and communication actions with a European dimension that are aimed at young people and youth leaders, in the context of the European Year of Citizens and the perspective of elections to the European Parliament in 2014. The projects proposed must improve the dissemination of quality information and increase young people’s access to information and to various channels of communication at both national and European levels. The projects will aim in the long term to encourage the participation of young people in public life and to facilitate the achievement of their potential as active, responsible European citizens.

Action 4.5 is part of Action 4 "Youth support systems" within the Youth in Action programme, which contributes to develop the quality of support structures, to support the role of those active in youth work and youth organisations, to develop the quality of the Programme and to promote civil participation of young people at European level by supporting bodies active at European level in the field of youth.

Preference will be given to innovative and wide-ranging projects focussing on subjects that are topical or of interest to young people or youth workers, and which reflect the priorities of the ‘Youth in Action’ programme, namely:

  • participation of young people,
  • cultural diversity,
  • european citizenship,
  • inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities.

    Preference will also be given to projects reflecting the following annual priorities of the call:
    - Awareness-raising about EU citizenship and the rights that go with it, in the context of the European Year of Citizens;
    - Awareness-raising about participation in the 2014 European elections, thus enabling young people to behave as active, informed citizens.
    The end beneficiaries of these projects are young people and people working in the youth sector, either within youth organisations or youth structures, or for regional and local authorities.
