YOUTH IN ACTION - Action 4.4 - Projects encouraging innovation and quality in the youth sector

This subaction aims to support projects that seek to adopt, implement and encourage innovative and good quality approaches in the fields of non-formal education for young people and youth work.
Action 4.4 is part of Action 4 "Youth support systems" within the Youth in Action programme, which contributes to develop the quality of support structures, to support the role of those active in youth work and youth organisations, to develop the quality of the Programme and to promote civil participation of young people at European level by supporting bodies active at European level in the field of youth.

Such innovative approaches may relate to:
  • the content and objectives, in line with the developments of the European cooperation framework in the youth field and the priorities of the Youth in Action programme; and/or,
  • the applied methodology, bringing new ideas and approaches to the field of non-formal education and youth.

    Priority theme:
    • Media literacy of young people
    • e-youth work

    Eligible activities under the current call for proposals are: creation and production of innovative audiovisual and multimedia tools, virtual activities using web tools, seminars, training courses, networking activities, awareness raising campaigns, exchange of best practices.

    Eligible applicants: non-profit-making organisations or networks and public bodies.
    The programme countries are: EU Member States, the EEA (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and Turkey (depending on the framework agreements signed).

    Projects must include partner organisations from at least 4 different countries (this includes the applicant) at least one of which must have their statutory head office in one of the EU Member States. Individuals are not eligible for grants under this call for proposals.

    Budget and duration:
    The total budget allocated to the cofinancing of projects under this call for proposals is estimated at EUR 1 200 000.The total maximum grant may not exceed EUR 100 000 or more than 65% of a project's total eligible expenses.
    Work must start between 1 December 2009 and 31 March 2010. They will have a minimum duration of 12 months and a maximum of 18 months.
